An obituary for fifth aunt come late

Conflict (internal)
An internal conflict in the story is between the aunt’s temptation to learn how to read and her belief in the stigma that a dressmaker’s assistant could not be literate at that time. (pg155)

Conflict (external)
Father hesitant to pay for aunt's medical bill during childhood years.

Climax
When the Japanese invaded and took over Singapore.This changes the lives of characters in the story.(pg153)

Resoultion
Complete resoultion.
The aunt lived a full life but with some minor setbacks. She was satisfied with her life and did not complain or compare her life to other people. And finally, she died without any regrets and went on peacefully.

  1. Nice blog and some good pointers on each story. But there could be more explanation and more sources of the conflicts in each story. Explaining internal and the external conflicts would help out alot. Nice Blog and PEACE.
